Hi! I’m Julie, the illustrator and Surface Designer behind Julep and Trubbs.

Working digitally, my loose and painterly illustrations are inspired by my travels, hobbies, thoughtful and quiet moments of my life drawn with a storybook feel.

My background is in computer animation working on films and streaming television. In those 14 yrs of being in the studio, I was able to work with some of the best crews on several shows in a fun, professional and timely manner. Some of the projects include Marvel Zombies, Marvel What If, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, The Willoughby’s, The Little Prince and Disney/Pixar Toy Story Toons and Cars Shorts.

Now, as a Surface Designer, I’m having fun illustrating my own designs. My dream is to see my artwork on products such as stationery, advent calendars, wallpaper, textiles, puzzles, home decor, food packaging and children’s books all around the world. I currently live on the Atlantic Coast in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada.

And this is Trubbs.

She was my constant companion in my studio office, especially during the pandemic. Often times, tasks took longer to do when she demanded purr-y cuddles and gentle head bumps.

In 2022, we had to let Trubbs be free of pain. It was the saddest day of our little family. She’s still my muse and can be found in some of my artwork. There will always be a Trubbs shaped hole in my heart. xo
